Siru was born in 1988. The founder, Rudy Marinotto, using his technical and artistic experience, brings the company to stand out in the world of lighting.
The high production flexibility is one of the peculiarities of the company because it produces models ranging from the standards in the catalogues to those designed and commissioned by designers.
Craftsmanship and attention to detail are the basis of everyday life with which the company deals with projects and commissions, even of great design interest. The use and processing of raw materials is essential for the realization of high-quality glass, which color comes from the addition of minerals to the melting of the sand.
The desire to study and modify the historical processes leads the company to the continuous improvement and expansion of the textures used in the products. The expertise of the technical department is available and at the service of customers, to help them find the best technical solution for their projects.
Interview with Marinotto Rudy, Administrator & Founder of Siru srl.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Marinotto Rudy: Siru combines quality and innovative solutions to the charm transmitted by handmade objects.
This quality appreciated by the designers, has consented to Siru to ensure a range of products divided into 5 catalogues to meet the design needs of its customers. In addition to offering technical advice during the design phase, both in the choice of standard products and in the development of special projects, Siru supports its customers also during the execution of the work and in the following years.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
M.R: Siru has expanded its catalogs with new proposals but in 2022 it presented 2 new Outdoor and Homeware catalogs.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
M.R: The product range is very diversified:
- The Classic catalog collects the company’s iconic products;
- The Design catalog where contemporary versions of the type of processing of the caged historical and main processing of Siru are proposed;
- The Glass catalog where Siru offers products exclusively made of blown glass;
- The Outdoor catalog where a collection of exclusive outdoor products were presented in 2022;
- The Homeware catalog where products made for furnishing purposes are collected, ranging from tables to glasses.
ALL catalogs contain products made entirely on an artisanal level in our offices in Italy with Italaini components.
It is essential to reiterate that each product is different, confirming the craftsmanship of the same.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
M.R: Markets differ between physical stores / web stores / retailers where everyone seems to me to be quite static due to the too uncertain situation due to an unstable situation.
While the project market, although aware of the unstable situation, continues to implement the planned paths and projects, hoping for a future solution.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
M.R: Very general question, the merchants are very different certainly the American, European, Asian and African markets cannot be compared, the only thing I notice in this period that brings everyone together is a change in the knowledge of people and a search in a world diverse, becoming aware that what they have been told to date does not correspond to the truth.
Globalization, the opening of the single market, the domination of the dollar is perhaps about to change and I believe that in a few decades we will see markets that are very different from those we know today.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
M.R: Siru is not a company that aims to bring technological innovation to the market. Our products are more linked to tradition to the charm of hand-made with forgotten or abandoned methods.
Certainly, the technical part related to product safety is constantly updated, but we are not a technology company.
E.E: What estimations do you have for the rest of 2022?
M.R: Siru is working on 3 important projects that will be carried out in Greece, we should start production in January 2023, for 2022 I believe that the situation will remain stable until today’s situation is stabilized which is uncertain.
