Gabadi is a multinational SME which is dedicated to two quite different sectors such as the fitting out of ships or the construction of the hotel part of a ship, and in the energy sector the construction and repair of tanks that store liquefied LNG.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
GABADI: The main Areas of Activity are the Naval Qualification, focused on ships of High added value with specific requirements in Resistance, Weight and Acoustic Attenuation, such as Military Ships, Oceanographic, etc.
On the other hand, we make Cryogenic Tanks for the Storage of Liquefied Gases such as LNG, Argon or Ammonia.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
GABADI: Currently, energy efficiency and the health of workers at sea is one of the biggest concerns in our sector, hence the issue of weights, which allows greater energy efficiency, collides with the sound attenuation that requires mass, Therefore, Gabadi has panels that meet these requirements, being the most optimized on the market.
Likewise, it is developing with a European project a Hydrogen Storage system, to save the handicap that its storage supposes after the production of green Hydrogen through clean Energies. For this, we are working with panels with vacuum insulation.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
GABADI: Our range of Products are everything related to Naval Fitting out, such as Panels, Roofs, Doors, Furniture, Toilet Modules, etc. But in the Services section, we carry out from the turnkey project, from Conceptual Engineering, to delivery and technical validation of the habitable part of the ship and its Ergonomic, Safety and Comfort adaptation.
On the other hand, we carried out the Turnkey Installation of LNG Cryogenic Systems and other liquefied gases, and we hope to present said solution for Hydrogen shortly.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
GABADI: We work in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and America. Being our main markets, Canada, China and Europe.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
GABADI: Issues such as energy efficiency, digitization, and lowering the carbon footprint are being the main challenges for the industry.
In the case of Digitization, issues such as the Digital Twin that allows the duplication of a real system in a simulated way makes it possible to obtain data that leads us to greater forecasting and optimization of the systems. It is a fact that military ships such as the F110 frigates in which we are immersed have the great challenge of creating a digital twin of said ship.
Regarding the Carbon footprint, elements such as decarbonization with the use of Green Hydrogen, in which we find ourselves immersed, the great challenge of its storage is another very important issue for us.
And the efficiency that allows the reduction of weights, the insulation, that reduces the electrical consumption of air conditioning, is another issue that represents a challenge for us that must be optimized.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
GABADI: Compliance with high ranges of acoustic reduction with suitable Products, complying with the safety of passive fire protection and with a contained weight.
Tanks for the storage of Liquid Argon for CERN, in the Laguna project, for the acceleration of Neutrinos.
Or the tank that allows the cryogenic storage of Hydrogen, which will be on the market shortly.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?
GABADI: The existing Geopolitical situation causes a large increase in Military programs which means that 2023 and the following have good forecasts.
On the other hand, Hydrogen is where more investment efforts are taking place and we expect a commercialization of said tank shortly, which will mean a new source of business with great demand.
