IoTicontrollo create custom solutions starting from the idea to arrive at the complete supply of the product. They develop both electronic and mechanical hardware, firmware and software.
The company produces all products in-house. They specialize in the development of devices in wireless technology, especially in the one called LPWAN (low-power wide-area network).
The peculiarity of this technology is to allow the connection between objects with equipment with low consumption, with battery life of over 10 years.
The massive coverage of the territory and the penetration even in environments difficult to reach with other technologies (for example GSM) makes it excellent for connecting telemetry devices.
Interview with Giancarlo Barbieri, General Manager IoTicontrollo.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Giancarlo Barbieri: We work in areas related to the Internet of Things, objects able to interact with each other and with the surrounding reality, thus allowing the physical world to be progressively digitized and monitored.
The use of low power and wide range networks, known as LPWAN, allows the connection between these objects with low speeds, exchange of a few tens or hundreds of bits.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
G.B: Soon will be available two of our new products working thanks to LPWA technology: Remote Control Box a device for remote management of machinery, systems and appliances; and the Motion Iot Sensor can detect movement in the vicinity of the sensor, also available in IP68 water resistant version.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
G.B: IoTicontrollo manufactures ‘stand alone’ products that are: Security Iot Box, Power Control Box, Smoke Detector, Plug Meter, Door Alarm, Remote Control Box and Motion Iot Sensor.
We create customized products starting from the customer’s idea, we can offer all the services to get to have the finished product tested and ready to be sold and finally we design and produce equipment connected to the network for the detection of water flows, pressure, alarms for industrial use.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
G.B: In the Internet of Thing field is growing rapidly and every day new technologies change the way people live.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
G.B: The need to remotely control machinery and similar, will be the cornerstone of the development of electronics in the coming years.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
G.B: We develop IOT systems, with LPWA connectivity. For example, IoTicontrollo has created Minilogger, a product for the smart metering of water. It reads the pulses generated by the pulse launcher applied to the water meter and transmits the consumption via Nb-iot.
In partnership with an important company, we have realized PDC (Pulse Data Captur) NB-IoT minilogger a device that allows the reading of the pulse emitter applied to the meter for the efficient remote metering of sanitary water through an easy and intuitive smartphone app, able also to guarantee the installation and the intervention of technicians in a practical way always through a dedicated App and promptly report faults and/ or tampering.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?
G.B: For 2023 we expect again a 10% growth in the Internet of Things sector.
