The SECO/WARWICK Group will provide Australian PWR Advanced Cooling Technology with two Universal Batch CAB furnaces and a CAB continuous line. The furnaces will be used for brazing aluminum heat exchangers. The three solutions on order will go to two continents – Australia and North America both owned and operated by PWR Advanced Cooling Technology.
Three solutions for manufacturing heat exchangers
PWR Advanced Cooling Technology has been specializing in the production of modern and efficient heat exchangers since 1988. SECO/WARWICK solutions were previously purchased by this Partner in 1996 and 2005. The current contract is the third purchase of technologies designed to meet the new production challenges related to the brazing process.
Two furnaces, the continuous CAB line and Universal Batch CAB Furnace, will be delivered to production plants in Australia. The second chamber furnace will be delivered at the same time to the American branch of PWR, C&R Racing Inc. SECO/WARWICK in Poland is responsible for the chamber furnace supply, while the continuous CAB line will be delivered by the Group’s Chinese branch.
“The current contract is special because we will deliver different solutions simultaneously to two continents, but to the same customer. Additionally, they will originate from our two production plants, also located on two continents. Logistically and operationally, it is therefore a challenge, but achievable with our global structure. It is part of our philosophy that where we operate globally, we react locally,” says Sławomir Woźniak, CEO of the SECO/WARWICK Group.
“Universal Chamber CAB Batch Furnaces and continuous CAB lines are flagship products for heat exchanger manufacturers. Every year, the SECO/WARWICK Group supplies more and more of them, as the demand for these solutions is constantly growing in every corner of the globe,” said Piotr Skarbiński, Vice president of the Aluminum and CAB Product Segment at SECO/WARWICK Group.
The Universal Solution – SECO/WARWICK’s chamber brazing furnace
The Universal Batch CAB Furnace is a product meeting the requirements for protective atmosphere aluminum brazing technology (Nocolok®). It allows users to braze products in a horizontal or vertical position. It works well in the production of “Plate and Bar” and “Tube and Fin” heat exchangers.
The versatility inherent in the furnace name guarantees a wide range of applications. This type of batch furnace guarantees short-series production of heat exchangers while maintaining high quality and technological parameters. The main advantage of this solution is the production versatility which allows the system to braze the exchangers in two positions – vertical and horizontal. In addition, the furnace ensures high atmosphere quality, which translates into the brazed element quality.
“The furnace on order provides the highest flexibility in production planning by giving users the choice of loading products in the furnace both horizontally and vertically. This design eliminates any limitations caused by the heat exchanger configuration. Nitrogen convection used during the heating and brazing process reduces cycle time while maintaining a uniform temperature distribution for each brazed component. The same convection advantages apply during the cooling phase in the cooling chamber. The furnace is designed for short production series of aftermarket products as well as handling special orders,” explains Piotr Skarbiński, Vice president of the Aluminum and CAB Products Segment at SECO/WARWICK Group.
The Continuous CAB line – technology designed for mass production of heat exchangers
The Continuous CAB line for brazing in protective atmosphere will be used at the Australian PWR Advanced Cooling Technology plant for mass production of various heat exchangers. CAB lines from SECO/WARWICK take into account modern solutions that include both reliability and energy savings as well as meeting local environmental requirements. The project is distinguished by full automation and production reliability in a continuous system.
“Choosing SECO/WARWICK as a supplier of as many as three furnaces is primarily our recognition of competence in the production of solutions adapted to the customer’s high technological requirements. We have already ordered the company’s furnaces twice, and the current contract, although more than 25 years have passed since the first order, is the best proof that we are satisfied with the product quality, cooperation, and after-sales service. The return to SECO/WARWICK technology was also due to the fact that the Group is a global and reputable player who guarantees professional service in all our locations. The logistics of this contract will be demanding, but with a partner such as SECO/WARWICK, everything should go perfectly,” said Andi Scott from PWR Advanced Cooling Technology.
